First Day of Fall
When is the first day of fall? Usually around September 22nd or 23rd. On this day, the sun crosses the celestial equator, moving from north to south. Something really unique happens on this day.
In the Northern Hemisphere, residents see a nearly equal length of day and night. This is a phenomenon that only happens twice a year – during the autumn equinox and spring equinox.
