It will be a mostly pleasant weekend for the bulk of the Midwest and the Northeast, however, rain showers and thunderstorms are lurking in the background for the start of next week. Here is a look at what you can expect in the coming days.

Largely Pleasant Weekend in Store for the Northeast and Beyond

Millions of Americans in the Midwest and the Northeast are breathing a sigh of relief heading into the weekend with low humidity levels and mostly dry conditions. Temperatures are also falling from the oppressive readings seen earlier in the month. However, forecasters are warning that the last week of July is going to bring a surge of moisture and humidity to the eastern half of the country.

The nice weather for the weekend is brought to you by a large area of high pressure that has been pumping sunshine and dry conditions throughout the Northeast and into most of the Midwest. The result has been low humidity levels and temperatures that have been trending below the historical average for the third week in July.
