While we might notice weather's immediate effects in our daily lives, its most profound impact happens gradually through erosion, the process that continuously reshapes our planet's surface.

Weathering And Erosion

Weathering, the process of breaking down rock into smaller pieces, creates loose material that erosion can then transport away. Weathering can happen through physical processes (like freeze-thaw cycles and root wedging) and chemical processes (like oxidation and dissolution).
