This Spring to Feature Warmer Weather for the South Compared to 2024

The official start of the meteorological spring happened on March 1 while the beginning of the astronomical spring is right around the corner. How will the spring of 2025 stack up to last year's season? Here is what the experts are saying about this comparison.

Warmer in the South

Compared to the spring of 2024, the current season is expected to be substantially warmer in the South. A joint spring outlook issued by The Weather Company in partnership with Atmospheric G2 details that the southern tier of the U.S. will see the most significant departure of temperatures above normal levels in a zone from the southern Plains and into the Desert Southwest.

These unseasonably warm temperatures are expected for the bulk of the spring from March to May. Although there will be times when the mercury dips a bit below the average, the general trend will favor warmer than normal temperatures when compared to what the spring of 2024 delivered.
