Thanksgiving is the time to gather with family and friends, and this year, millions of people will be doing just that. This time of year is the busiest time in the U.S. to travel on the roads and in the sky, and this year could be busier than ever. Busiest in Almost 20 Years

According to AAA, over 55 million people are expected to travel in the U.S. this Thanksgiving. This number is a 2.3% increase from last year, and the third highest since AAA began tracking holiday travel in 2000. Although many people are expected to travel on the roads for Thanksgiving, air travel this year could reach its highest number since 2005.

Regardless of the mode of travel, the weather in certain areas of the U.S. could complicate plans.
