13th Day of Severe Storms Threatens Millions in Southeast

Forecasters warn that weather conditions in the Sunshine State appear unsettled at the start of the week.
At least 20 people were killed across several states during the relentless system that brought tornadoes and record-breaking flash flooding to the Midwest and South. Monday marks the 13th straight day of severe weather as southeastern states now brace for powerful thunderstorms. According to the NOAA, nearly 7.5 million people from Florida to the Carolinas face a level 2 of 5 severe thunderstorm threat.
Tornado Watch for Big Bend and Tallahassee
On Monday morning, the NWS issued a tornado watch for parts of northern Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. The storm prediction center also posted an update stating, "Severe weather threat still appears generally low, but the risk for an additional brief tornado or two persists."
