6 months agoThe U.S. will see a mixed bag of weather on Tuesday. While conditions will vary greatly between regions, the forecast is all typical for this time of the year when the heat and uncertainty of summer weather sets in. Here is a look at the top weather headlines for Tuesday.
Unsettled Across the Great Lakes and Portions of the Midwest
The Great Lakes and the Midwest will be under an unsettled weather pattern on Tuesday. Chicago is forecast to see scattered rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day with winds clocking in at 10 to 20 mph from the southwest. The greatest chance of significant moisture will happen during the early part of the day. Despite the cloud cover, temperatures will still manage to come close to breaking the 90-degree mark. Thunderstorms in the evening hours will dissipate overnight with lows expected to slip into the upper 60s.
Detroit will also wake up to rain showers to start the day with thunderstorms anticipated for the evening and overnight hours. The thunderstorm development will take place as the soaring mercury merges with the energy associated with an incoming cool front. Highs will hover in the mid 80s before dropping to about 71 degrees after the sun goes down across the Motor City. It will be a breezy day in this part of Michigan with winds out of the southwest at 15 to 25 mph.
