9 months agoA wet weekend was on tap for the East Coast, however, a drier and much warmer weather pattern is on the way for this part of the nation. Here is the latest on this topsy-turvy forecast.
Rain Socks in Eastern U.S. to Start the Weekend
Many of the nation's largest metropolitan areas were in for a soaker on Saturday. A storm came together to end the work week, bringing up moisture from both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The southern tier of the U.S. saw the bulk of this moisture on Friday with cities such as New Orleans and Atlanta caught in the crosshairs of the rainmaker.
This weather event continued to chug up the Atlantic Seaboard on Saturday, ushering in heavy amounts of moisture to the Ohio Valley, the central Appalachians, and up into the Northeast and New England through Saturday.
How much rain can you expect? Up to an inch of rain is in the forecast for the Interstate 95 corridor stretching from Washington, D.C. and up through Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston.
