Last yearA duo of storms is forecast to deliver a mix of rain and snow to the Northeast and the Midwest in the coming days. Travel could be impacted by these back-to-back weather makers through the weekend. Here is what you need to know.
More Moisture Seeping Into the Midwest and Northeast to Close Out the Week
The end of the week will be distinguished by a chill in the air across much of the Midwest and the Northeast. However, milder conditions are in store for the weekend as warmer air filters up the Gulf of Mexico, bringing temperatures more in line for what is typical this time of the year.
The flip side is that this moist air from the Gulf will also increase the risk of rain showers and fog for the Midwest and the potential of snow in areas to the north.
It has been a couple of blustery days for the Northeast as sinking temperatures and strong winds made it feel more like the middle of the winter rather than the end of the fall. The winds were so gusty that they brought down the National Christmas Tree located on the lawn of the White House.
