How Many Days Till Daylight Savings, How to Prepare, and More

10 months agoDaylight saving time (DST) is the practice of adjusting clocks forward by one hour in the spring and reverting them back by an hour in the fall. Most locations in the U.S. and Canada follow this annual ritual, changing clocks at 2 a.m. local time on specified Sundays each March and November.
How Many Days Till Daylight Savings?
The beginning of DST in spring occurs on the second Sunday in March. For 2024, that meant advancing clocks to 3 a.m. at 2 a.m. local time on March 10.
This shift to what's commonly called "springing forward" results in an hour less of darkness in the evening but also means waking up an hour earlier. Studies show this abrupt disruption can negatively impact sleep quality and quantity for many people as their body rhythms adjust.
To end DST in the fall, clocks are dialed back one hour on the first Sunday of November. In 2024, the switch back to standard time will take place at 2 a.m. on November 3. Though gaining an extra hour of sleep may seem positive, research indicates any benefits are often minimal.
