Don't Miss: Moon, Venus, Saturn & Mercury Align in Friday Morning Sky
Alexis Thornton
5 hours agoEarly risers this Friday, April 25, will be treated to a rare and beautiful celestial show as the crescent moon aligns with Venus, Saturn, and Mercury in the early morning sky.
This stunning planetary grouping will appear in the eastern sky just before dawn, and all four celestial bodies will be visible to the naked eye — though spotting Mercury may take a little effort due to its dimmer glow and low position near the horizon.
The crescent moon will sit above the horizon in the middle of this cosmic lineup, with Venus and Saturn shining bright nearby. Mercury, while fainter, will still be visible in areas with clear skies and minimal light pollution.
Some are calling the event a "celestial smiley face," with the moon as the smile and the two brighter planets as eyes. But skywatchers in North America should temper their expectations — the planets will appear slightly angled and more spread out, not forming a perfect arc or face shape.
