NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams are two space program veterans. They were chosen to pilot the first crewed test flight of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft and have now been in space for 67 days, approximately seven weeks longer than originally planned. At this time, there isn't a scheduled return date. NASA is considering options to return the astronauts to Earth on an alternative to Starliner.

Astronauts' Return Date is Uncertain

Witmore and Williams arrived at the International Space Station on June 6th, 2024, anticipating a week-long mission before returning to Earth on the Boeing Starliner. Boeing's Harmony module docked with the ISS on July 3rd. The two astronauts are still onboard the ISS, seven weeks longer than anticipated. Currently, there isn't a definite date for the astronaut's return. They could remain on the ISS until 2025.
