What Is Deforestation And How Is It Related To Weather?
Jennifer Gaeng
6 hours agoDeforestation refers to the clearing of a vast area of forest cover. Its primary cause is human action through logging, agriculture, mining or urban development. The process does not only impact the trees, but it also causes devastating ripples on biodiversity, climate and human wellbeing (1).
Causes of Deforestation
The main drivers for deforestation are:
Agriculture: Forests are cleared for crops or livestock, particularly in developing regions where subsistence farming is common.
Logging: Demands for timber and wood products result in the harvesting of trees, sometimes fast or rather unethical.
