Geomagnetic storms are a natural phenomena that occur when the earth’s magnetosphere is temporarily disturbed by solar activity. In astronomy, a magnetosphere is the space surrounding a planet that’s dominated by the planet’s magnetic field. 

Other planets in the solar system have magnetospheres, but the earth’s is the strongest. It’s a vast, comet-shaped bubble that plays a crucial role in the habitability of our planet.
