Weather and Fatigue: The Hidden Link

Ever notice how storms make you sleepy? Or why humid days drain your energy faster than dry ones? That exhaustion isn't just in your head. Weather affects our bodies in surprising ways, and fatigue tops the list of complaints when conditions change (4).

The Body's Weather Station

The human body is much like a mobile weather station, feeling pressure changes, humidity, temperature, and mostly all of these a lot before the human mind can figure out what changed. These changes reach every level from joint pains up to how tired you feel (5).

Some folks feel these changes more than others. You may know someone who tires before storms, or who just can't clear the fog on humid days. Though everyone is different, some patterns tend to reappear. The Pressure Factor Barometric pressure is likely the worst offender. With the drop before storms, some interesting things happen inside your body:
