March weather in 2024 was the hottest month on record worldwide, according to the Copernicus Climate Change Service, which the European Commission funds. This continues a 10-month trend, with each month being the hottest since officials started keeping records in 1850.

Furthermore, the average rise of 3 degrees Fahrenheit was much more than climatologists anticipated.

The average temperature in March in the U.S. was 45.1 degrees, which is 3.6 degrees above average.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, this is the 17th warmest March in 130 years.
