Once upon a time, Asheville was seen as a refuge from extreme weather. Now, Hurricane Helene has proven that no place is immune to the impacts of climate change. The devastating effects of Hurricane Helene underscore how vulnerable even this mountain city is.
Over 50 Lives Lost
Helene blew into the States as a Category 4 hurricane when it struck Florida on Thursday, September 26th. It savagely swept through six states, leaving more than 160 dead in its wake.
