Over 180 Million Americans at Risk of Severe Weather in Days Ahead

2 days agoMarch is certainly not going out like a lamb this year. Forecasters are sounding the alarm bells about an impending severe weather outbreak bearing down on the central and eastern U.S. this week.
Early Week to Bring More Storm Activity
The new week will begin where the weekend left off with stormy conditions for much of the eastern half of the country. At least two dozen states will be under the gun for potential impacts such as large hail, flash flooding, and high winds. The powerful storms will trigger the threat of widespread tornadic activity as well.
Two different storms coming in back-to-back will be responsible for the inclement conditions. The moisture associated with the volatile pattern will also raise the risk of flooding.
Thunderstorms erupted on Sunday morning across parts of Texas and up into Missouri, intensifying as the day progressed. These storms will linger through portions of the Mississippi and lower Ohio valleys into the overnight hours and Monday. This is the same zone that should expect another round of severe weather by Wednesday.
