It is not shaping up to be the best week for outdoor activities in the eastern U.S. While the region will start with a fresh batch of frigid temperatures, a storm late in the week will compound the inclement conditions. Here is a look at this chilly and unsettled forecast.

More Moisture Will Follow Cold Temperatures Out East

A late-week storm targets the East Coast with significant rain and the threat of mountain snow. The surge of precipitation will come on the heels of unseasonably cold temperatures to start the week.

A separate storm has already set up over the interior portions of the Northeast early in the week. The Ohio Valley, the Great Lakes, and the central Appalachians will see a chance of rain and wet snow on Tuesday and Wednesday. This first system will not be packing a great deal of moisture. However, some of the Upper Midwest will see wet snow from this weather maker.
