Forecasters are predicting that there will be no far-reaching storm systems that impact the U.S. on New Year's Eve.
This forecast is quite the anomaly for what you can typically expect at the end of December and into early January. These largely calm conditions should make for easy travel, however, a few random areas of concern may pop up.
When it comes to specific city forecasts, the outlook is positive for the traditional New Year's Eve hot spots. For instance, the over 1 million people that are expected to gather in Times Square in New York City will see temperatures in the low 40s for the evening and as the clock approaches midnight.
