While not all of the U.S. is out of the woods yet when it comes to snowfall this season, this is a good time to look back to see how this winter has enfolded in terms of snowfall. It is difficult to characterize the winter of 2024 - 2025 in general terms.

It has been a good year if you like snow and you live in the Great Lakes. This group of lakes froze up later than usual this season. The lack of ice coverage across the lakes translated to a snowier winter for this part of the country.
