4 months agoYou may be in luck if you live in the Midwest, the Northeast, and the Southeast and you are tired of the stifling heat. The forecast is calling for a cooldown in store for much of the eastern half of the U.S. in the coming days. Here is when you can expect the relief to arrive.
At Least One More Day of Heat for the Northeast
Temperatures and humidity levels have been soaring in tandem in recent days across the Midwest, the Northeast, and the Southeast. These levels are about to take a tumble as a mass of cooler air moves down from Canada and triggers a different weather pattern.
While both the temperatures and humidity levels will fall in the northern part of the U.S., the moist air is predicted to linger in the Southeast.
Residents needed to get through another day of immense heat on Tuesday before the trajectory of the mercury trended downward.
Itwas a sweltering day in both Washington, D.C. and Baltimore with temperatures hitting 104 degrees during the peak afternoon hours. Readings topped out in the upper 90s to the north in New York and Baltimore.
Real feel readings climbed even higher on Tuesday as the intense sunshine of the middle of July paired with the oppressive humidity creating dangerous conditions for vulnerable populations. Meteorologists warned that the real feel temperature could push past 110 degrees for a short time during the hardest-hit areas.
