Central U.S. Will See Break from Persistent Storms

6 months agoThe nation's heartland will enjoy a much-deserved respite from the severe storms that have impacted the region in recent weeks. However, rain will still be an issue for the water-logged area. Here is a look at what you can expect in the coming days.
Severe Storms May Ease but Moisture Will Linger
It has been a wild ride for the central U.S. throughout the first half of May. Multiple bouts of severe weather have kept residents on edge. While forecasters are predicting that the chance of thunderstorms will decrease over the next week, the threat of moisture will not ease.
Many communities in the central portions of the country will be using the nice stretch of weather this weekend to clean up from the storms of the last few weeks. Deadly tornadoes have ripped through this area but a break is on the way as a mass of more stable air dominates the weather pattern.
This stable air will cut off the flow of moisture up from the Gulf of Mexico and serve as protection from the development of storms.
